Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Driver / Warehouse Associate to join our team. This position is responsible for safely picking up and delivering materials to and from customers, as well as performing various warehouse duties including loading/unloading, material staging, facility maintenance, and general warehouse upkeep. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Delivery:
- Safely operate company vehicles to pick up and deliver materials to and from customer locations. Our customers span multiple states including Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Missouri, and others.
- Load and unload materials using pallet jacks and dollies.
- Verify and document deliveries and pickups, ensuring accuracy and completeness of materials.
- Maintain a clean driving record and follow all DOT and company driving safety standards.
Warehouse Operations:
- Stage materials for outbound delivery and incoming shipments.
- Assist with receiving, inspecting, labeling, and organizing inventory.
- Maintain accurate warehouse records and ensure materials are stored safely and efficiently.
- Ability to safely operate electric hand tools such as angle grinders and table saws to unbind books and remove adhesive spines.
Facility Maintenance:
- Perform basic facility maintenance, including changing light bulbs, minor repairs, and cleaning tasks.
- Operate scissor lifts and other equipment safely as needed.
- Ensure the warehouse and loading areas are clean, organized, and free from hazards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL not required, but a plus).
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in delivery driving and/or warehouse operations preferred.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks, dollies, and other material handling tools safely.
- Basic mechanical or maintenance skills preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and customer service.
Work Environment
- Schedule is Monday – Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Primarily warehouse setting
- Regular exposure to minimal warehouse equipment noise, varying temperatures, and physical activity.
