Deed Record Digitization in the Mississippi Delta

About Bolivar County

At the center of the Mississippi Delta, Bolivar County is defined by fertile fields, enduring culture, and a history that continues to shape the region. The Chancery Clerk’s office plays a central role in preserving this history by maintaining land records that document the county’s growth and development. These records are not just legal documents—they are part of the Delta’s story, connecting generations of families, farms, and communities.

Spotlight on Leadership: Chancery Clerk, Brenett Haynes

Chancery Clerk Brenett Haynes has dedicated more than four decades of service to Bolivar County, leading the Clerk’s office since 2008. With an open-door policy and a deep commitment to public service, Brenett has spent her career helping citizens access records that impact their lives—whether guiding families through property histories, assisting attorneys with filings, or ensuring payroll is made for hundreds of county employees.

Over the years, Brenett’s office has consistently strengthened Bolivar County’s recordkeeping, making sure its collections remain accurate, accessible, and reliable. Most recently, she extended that effort by scanning and indexing additional years of land records, giving the public access to more than four decades of searchable title history. This most recent effort is a continuation of Brenett’s lifelong commitment to preserving records and improving access for the people of Bolivar County.

Like most counties, Bolivar County has very specific indexing rules that are essential to accurate title searches. The county also needed a partner that was well versed in formatting data for import into their Delta Computer Systems Land Records Management System (LRMS).

Our Approach to Land Record Scanning and Indexing

Revolution Data Systems partnered with Brenett and her staff to document Bolivar County’s unique indexing requirements. Through several rounds of samples, we captured the nuances of each instrument type and ensured the final deliverable reflected how the county manages its records.

We also worked directly with Delta Computer Systems to format every image and index field for seamless import into their Delta system. While most scanning companies stop at delivering images, RDS provides records that are ready-to-use — no extra steps for staff, no surprises. This collaboration ensured Bolivar’s records integrated perfectly with Delta and immediately improved title searches, property transactions, and citizen access.

Every county is unique, and it was important to us that our indexing reflected the way we work in Bolivar County. RDS listened and delivered exactly what we needed.
