I am going to show some of the enhanced functionality that has been added to ApplicationXtender Administrator 20.3.

In this version, they have added some really great features for reporting and monitoring. I will expand the Reporting and then the data source itself to see some of the new features that have been added.

For example, User Effective Permission Report. What this allows you to do is to export a report on a particular user.

What you will see is that after In the normal AX after all the group memberships are accounted for, what the user effective permissions end up being. Because AX uses a permissive model, whatever permissions are granted to one group cannot be taken away by another group.

Another really great tool is under Monitoring. One of my favorites is under Application Usage. When we click on this node we see for my demo data source, the breakdown of how many documents are in each application. I can change how many applications are displayed at a time. Then I can scroll down the window to see some of my various applications.

For example IMAGEAPP3 here I’ve got 82 documents that have 82 indexes and 83 pages, So we know that one of those documents has more than one page.

Objects tell us how many bin files are actually used to store those various documents.

This type of data in previous versions of AX could only be accessed by performing specific database queries.
